Stories

This theme was about story telling, it struck me to try get an insight into the way in which my grandad lives, as i dont visit or see him much i thought that it would be appropiate to take some pictures of his house and certain items which have some meaning towards the theme of the stories. It later occured to me after taking a few pictures that he is lonely... I decided to set my story telling on the theme loneliest, the pictures below represent loneliest. The way i showed this was to try take pictures that represent items used for more than one person in a household i have shown this in a few of the pictures, where he is sitting down in a single chair, but the picture shows that their are more seating. Another photo can represent this where i took a picture of the items in his kitchen, it shows that their are alot of mugs when he only uses the one mug for himself. The main picture i wanted to use is the one above. As i was getting a tour around the house he came across to this item, where he told me a story about this motorbike made of straw. He went into full detail about the motorbike, as he was speaking about the motorbike i managed to take a picture. He later said towards the end of the story that it was made by a blind man. This made me recognize even though he is lonely and enjoys his own company, he fully respects this item because he was a blind man. It then led me to question are blind people lonely, because they dont see anyone aswel.

Fashion Photography

For this task i was asked to take pictures in relation to fashion. It had occured to me firstly that fashion has always been infulenced by icons and celebrities. This then led me into questioning how fashion has developed so much that most celebrities can wear literary anything and get away with it. For example, the current fashion now is big bright colours which can not look good at all, but as its popular, people call it the "FASHION". In addition it occured to me that brand names can also influence peoples perspectives. By having a well known brand name on a item of clothing it can mean alot more because its got a little logo or a name on it then just an ordinary item of clothing. After questioning the fashion related to celebrities, it then led me to think about Super Heros & Cartoons, sounds stupid, but the first thing that sprung to mind was Superman! Supermans logo on his costume has influenced fashion were by people are wearing the Superman T-shirt which can be bought from most clothing shops. This then brought me back to how celebrities can get away with any fashion, in response i create this picture, giving a sense in why celebrites can get away with fashion when just normal people cant. I chose to use fashionable boxers to represent that fasion has picked up on the Superman T-shirt but not the small pants he wears over the top of his trousers. In this picture i tryed to just capture the pants and not my face to represent that obviously this type of fashion hasnt been picked up by celebrities or icons yet so it would be appropiate not to show my face and be anonymous & wait for celebrities to catch on and maybe make this a "FASHION"

Shutter Speeds

This shows a picutre of a new neighbour on my street. Again i said to "just pose". A sense of humour came across when taking the photo as he was in a funny position. Both pictures represent the sort of personalities that live on my street.

Street Task

For my photography task i was asked to photograph my neighbours on my street. This picture shows a well know neighbour, when taking the picture i asked her to pose obviously as a kind jester for taking the photo, she has simply shown herself with her hands in her pocket giving a very casual look. This then led me to think about the personlities of the type of neighbours i have on my street.

Street Pictures

In this picture i choose to use a slow shutter speed to capture the light from an oncoming car going down my street. My street is a paticular busy road at times, after taking this picture it occurred to me that the house next door to me is sold. This is something that my new neighbours will have to consider, the speed and noise of some of the cars. In theory this picture makes sense of the street i live on. It also allowed me to learn how to exploit shutter speeds, control stability and understand aperture.

Photography Timeline...

For this task i was investigating the timeline of photography, i used photoshop to merge the different photos together, this was also one of my first pieces using photoshop. My initial idea was to research various photographers such as Joseph Niepes all the way up to modern photographers such as David Hockney and try make a connection between the both. This then led me to use this opportunity to get a feel for photoshop. I was now going to show a contrast of different photos from different eras. In addition when making the timeline i noticed that a contrast of different colours were formed as the photos were getting more modern. This makes it more obvious for people looking at this to get an understanding of what i was trying to achieve.

Brothers...For this Task i was experimenting in the Visual Elements based on myself and my brother. This picture focuses on the colour, texture and tone, due to the vibrant blue in the left picutre this additionally focuses on the texture of each of the eyes. I also tryed to show some of the similarities and the differences between us. One of the main difference between us is the tone in skin colour.
